Alongside the distinctive red-and-white striped structure is a small pleasure park for children, including a miniature golf course, train rides and an ice-crame stand. Virtually next door to the lighthouse is the Serendipity Maze, a tortuous series of hedged-in passageways thateventually lead to thecentre, and a delight for small children.

You will need to head to the Waterfront or Sea Point for most shops although there is a 24 petrol station with convenience store, a pharmacy and liquor store on Beach Road. There is also a great deli called Newport Deli.
Mouille Point Restaurants

There are a number of fine restaurants located on Beach Road, all with great views over the sea and Robben Island. If you’re looking for night life head to nearby Green Point or De Waterkant.

Mouille Point Beaches

There are no beaches in Mouille Point. Your closest bit of sand is just along the road in Sea Point, or head to nearby Clifton.

For the whole family there is a mini golf located on the promenade. Tel. (021) 434 4605. Just next to this is there is a kiddies Blue Train, which chugs along tracks close to the beach. All ages are welcome. It is open Monday to Friday 15h00 – 17h00, Saturday and Sunday 11h00 – 17h00. Cost is R4 for a ride; infants under six months go free. Tel (021) 434 8537.
Mouille Point Sports

For those wishing to play some golf, try the Metropolitan Golf Course. Although not one of the most attractive golf courses in Cape Town, it has a great location in Moullie Point, close to the city centre and Atlantic seaboard and has great views of Table Mountain. It is a par 72 course (2 x 9 holes) with fairly even terrain and well placed bunkers and water hazards. The club house has a nice atmosphere and visitors are welcome. Costs for visitors are R250 for 18 holes, R150 for 9 holes and R135 to hire clubs. The course is open all year round. Tuesday afternoon is ladies only, Thursday afternoon competitions and Saturdays members only. Sundays are often crowded so its best to book in advance. There is also a driving range. For those feeling active, there is Point Virgin Active gym located in Bill Peters Drive, 5 minutes walk from Beach Road. Visitors are welcome and cost for a session for use of all facilities is R75 per person. Facilities include tennis courts, indoor pool, squash, toning and cardio circuits, free weights, aerobics, as well as sauna, sunbed, steambath and beauty therapy.
