Just beyond stylish Camps Bay is a small, rather isolated little beach seemingly hidden from the throng.
Lying on Bakoven Bay, tiny Bakoven beach is not ideal for swimming or watersports- thick beds of seaweed and kelp clog the water - but is ideal for soaking up the sun. Unlike the more popular beaches, it does not cater for crowds so there are no shops or cafes.
To reach this pebbly hideaway, you will have to brave the pathway down from the parking lot.
The road from Bakoven to Llandudno and beyond is a popular scenic drive. Just utside Bakoven, there is a substantial roadside market peppered with stalls selling curious crafts.
About halfway between Camps Bay and Llandudno lies a braai and picnic area with rockpools, and a string of tiny beaches popularwith scuba divers who swim out to investigate the shipwreck just off the coast
