Advanced Diving
Cape Town has a lot to offer the advanced diver. The underwater scenery varies from very stark and dramatic to colourful and picturesque. The kelp forests offer some of the most spectacular scenery and is particularly impressive on night dives. Cape Town also has a large amount of wrecks to choose from.
The most spectacular of these are probably the five wrecks in Smitswinkel Bay. If you are planning on doing any of the deeper dives be prepared for very cold temperatures. Always pack your hoodie, gloves and chicken vest if you don't like to dive cold. A decent torch is also a good idea when exploring Cape Town waters.

Open Water Diving
Cape Town has a great many spectacular dive sites suitable for novice and open water qualified divers. There is a great variety of shore and boat dives to choose from in both the Atlantic and False Bay. Sites with very easy entry and exit points are Bakoven, Clifton Rocks, Froggy Pond, and Windmill Beach.
There are also some very nice wrecks suitable for open water divers. Among the most frequently dived wrecks are The Antipolis, The Maori and The Oakburn.
