Boss 400

This is definetly an advanced dive since there can be quite a lot of surge at the site. Divers need to be very careful not to get swept into any sharp protruding metal pieces when diving this site. Much of the Boss is still visible above water and you'll often find somebody having a picknick on the deck.

Machinery like forklifts and bulldozers are strewn over the seabed around the wreck. You can also expect to find hottentot, box jellyfish and lots of crayfish.

Average depth: 22m

Max depth: 25m

How to get there:
The Boss 400 lies in Maori Bay on the Atlantic Ocean. (The same bay where you'll find the Maori and the Oakburn). You will have to take a boat from Houtbay harbour. Most dive charters have regular trips from here during the summer months.
