Glass sliding doors give access to the partially covered balcony with a bird’s eye view of the seawater canal below and the city beyond, where a table and four chairs create an idyllic spot for a romantic dinner under the stars. Two sun loungers are provided for sunbathing and relaxing with cocktails in the cool breezes that carry a hint of the ocean from the harbour.

The master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed and striking black wood cupboards that offset the pale walls and pastel carpet. Sliding doors open onto the balcony, from whence the glory of a Cape sunrise can be admired. The stylish en-suite bathroom has a bath and a glass shower cubicle, and the second bedroom has comfortable twin beds, an en-suite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the canal.

The open plan dining area opens onto a balcony with a stunning view of Table Mountain, chairs in which to relax and enjoy the vista and rattan blinds for additional privacy. The fully equipped kitchen, with its pale marble countertops and all the mod cons, makes whipping up that holiday feast or romantic dinner a pleasure.

A mere five minutes’ stroll from the complex is the Waterfront, where you can visit Seal Landing for a close encounter with the Cape fur seals that recline on the quayside. Tour the Clock Tower, the Time Ball Tower and visit the Dragon Tree for a taste of Cape Town’s diverse and fascinating history.

On the first morning, a complimentary continental breakfast and fresh-cut flowers are provided.

The apartment comes complete with towels, bath sheets, bath mats, pool towels, face cloths, WIFI, DSTV, a DVD player, under-floor heating, air conditioning, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, 24-hour security cameras in all passages and in the basement parking garage, plus security guards patrol the canal and outside pathways. Access is granted via a lift, or stairs located conveniently close to the front door.

All bathroom and kitchen consumables are provided, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and cookware. The housekeeping service has a key to the apartment and cleans it six days a week, and towels and bed linen are changed twice a week.

Apartment keys are dependent on the number of bedrooms, as are basement-parking bays, and a key-card gives access to the complimentary 24-hour fitness centre and three communal pools. Personal trainers are available upon request for an additional fee, and there is a coffee shop in the complex.

The concierge, who is on call 24-hours a day, meets guests at the security station upon arrival and gives an orientation tour, and the phones are linked to the security station.
