The main game lodge has a large viewing sundeck where guests are welcome to bide away the time. The crystal clear swimming pool is blessedly cool and inviting on hot summer days under the African sun.

The central dining room, bar, outdoor boma and gym are all situated in or around the main game lodge and are easily accessible from the chalets. A nearby chalet houses a well stocked library and entertainment centre that also serves as an exclusive venue for small corporate retreats.

The en-suite bathrooms have a choice of indoor shower, hippo sized bath or a secluded outdoor shower where you can pelt yourself with steaming hot water.

The master game lodge chalet has two separate double bedrooms, both with bathrooms ensuite and outdoor showers, linked by a central sitting room. The large viewing sundeck has a private jacuzzi.

Afternoon tea will be served shortly before your afternoon game drive. Four course dinners range from superb international cuisine served at the lodge's dining room to braais served in the open air boma around a wood fire under the African skies. Mhondoro boasts a wine cellar fully stocked with the best South African wines

The quoted tariffs include
a) Full board, 2 game drives per day, use of facilities at the Lodge
b) Local wines, beers and soft drinks
c) VAT at 14%

Gate Entrance Fee
A gate entrance fee as set by Welgevonden Game Reserve will be charged. As of 1 Jan 2008 this fee is R114 per person entering the reserve. This fee is however subject to change with no prior notice.

Arrival / departure times
Due to transport considerations, guests will be fetched from the main gate, Welgevonden between 13h00 and 13h30, unless special arrangements have been agreed. Checkout from the Lodge is 11h30, with expected departure from Main Gate at 12h30.

Terms of payment.
20% non-refundable deposit within 5 days to secure the booking.
Balance is required 40 days prior to arrival.
Reservations made less than 30 days prior to arrival, full payment is required within 48 hours to secure.
Failure to pay the deposit may result in the booking being re-allocated to other clients.
Extras will be paid by the guest prior to departure. i.e. imported drinks, gratuities etc

Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation fees will be as follows:
20% deposit is non-refundable
30 days prior to arrival - 100%
No shows will be charged for in full
Refunds are at the discretion of management at Mhondoro and if agreed, are subject to a 10% administration fee.

CHILDREN POLICY
Children’s rates
Under 2 years - No charge if sharing with two full paying adults
2 – 9 years - 60% rate if sharing with two full paying adults
10 years + are charged full adult rate

Please take note of the following children’s policy at Mhondoro Game Lodge :
Parents must sit with their children during transfers to/from the Lodge, and on game drives
Children of 8 years and older, can accompany parents on the morning and evening game drives, provided they adhere to the rangers instructions. Should they not adhere to the rangers instructions, safety on the drive may be compromised, and the drive will be concluded. The child/children will not be permitted on future drives.
No children under the age of 8 years will be permitted on the game drives. Whilst parents are on the morning game drive, the children will be entertained by the lodge staff, who will do fun “wild Africa” activities. However, for the evening game drive, an adult must remain with the children, or babysitting will need to be arranged at an additional cost. This must be arranged in advance, to ensure that there is staff available.
In the event that the entire lodge is booked by a family or they are the only guests booked, all the children will be permitted to accompany the family on the game drives. However, the rangers cannot go to dangerous sightings with very young children, and this will be discussed with the family by the rangers.
Should you require further babysitting services during the evening, this can be arranged at an additional cost.
The above policy is not to inconvenience families, but to ensure your safety and enjoyment is not compromised. Please note that the Lodge is not surrounded by an electric fence, and has high decks with no children safety rails.
