At Rooiels you may come across Cape clawless otters in the estuary, near the 4hectare fynbos reserve. There is great coastal fishing in this area and excellent river fishing at the Bot River Lagoon.

At Pringle Bay you can walk along the long, golden bathing beach or watch the sun setting over False Bay. Bodysurfers rate the breakers here very highly. After the Hangklip, where you can see the wreck of the De Grendel, one of more than 130 ships wrecked along the Overberg's shores, you'll lose sight of Cape Point and be presented with the extraordinary showcase of the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens in Betty's Bay. Take time to stroll along Silversands beach in search of the elusive paper nautilus shells, or get your pulse racing with some sand-boarding down the dunes. At Stony Point, you can get close to wild, endangered African Penguins (formerly known as Jackass penguins) at one of South Africa's two rare, land-based breeding colonies. Afterwards you can take in the sights of the historic old whaling station.

Kleinmond, named after the small lagoon mouth at the sandy beach of Sandown Bay, offers much in the adventure category. The Kogelberg Nature Reserve near Kleinmond, is part of one of the two major core areas of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve namely the Kogelberg Core and the Groenland Mountain Core.
The Kogelberg Core, home to some 1650 plant species of which 77 are endemic, is one of the world's 'hot spots' of biodiversity, and ohen regarded as the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
Fantastic views await you on the hiking and mountain bike trails. Spot spoonbills and a spectacle of wetland birds near the lagoon or track down the mysterious wild horses. the only string of wild horses in South Africa to be found in a wetland habitat. You can rough it on a short 4X4 road or experience the thrill of white water rahing, tubing or canoeing and abseiling in the pristine and breathtaking environment on the Palmiet River.

Try freshly prepared seafood, including perlemoen and oysters in Kleinmond's Harbour Road and aherwards, explore the quaint shops, the unique Strykyster (Iron) Museum, the Abalone Aquarium, or enjoy wine or honey tasting.
