DEPOSIT PAYMENTS

A DEPOSIT OF 50% OR 2 (TWO) NIGHTS, WHICHEVER IS THE GREATER, HALF OF WHICH IS REFUNDABLE ON CANCELLATION. UP TO 42 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL DATE, IS REQUIRED TO CONFIRM THE RESERVATION.

A deposit of 50% or two nights, which-ever is the greater, will be due in 5 days of making the booking, or immediately if arrival is within 5 days. For a stay of one or two nights, the full accommodation will be due as a deposit to confirm and secure your reservation. The balance of the accommodation will be due on arrival as well as a separate R1000 Key & Breakage Deposit (we will on arrival request to do a manual imprint of your credit card, which will be destroyed again after the cottage keys have been returned and housekeeping has checked the cottage after your departure). Please enquire in regards to the Deposit and Cancellation Policy for special monthly tariffs.

KEY & BREAKAGE DEPOSIT

A Key & Breakage deposit of R1000 will be required on arrival (this will be authorised against your credit card and you will sign authorisation, but it will only be debited in the event of damages to be paid, and with your knowledge).

CANCELLATION POLICY

The following cancellation fees apply regardless of the reason for cancellation:

Written letter of cancellation is required. A cancellation notice received more than 42 days prior to arrival date - 50% refund of the deposit paid. If received 42 Days or less prior to arrival date - There will be no refund - You are welcome to provide us with alternative dates, but if your accommodation is less than the deposit paid, there will be no refund of the balance of your original deposit paid.

PRIVACY POLICY

Houtkapperspoort Mountain Retreat is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of our visitors and clients. We will never sell, trade or otherwise give away any information about our guests, except if required to do so by law. Personal details and email addresses received through completing our online booking form are filed away securely and only used by Houtkapperspoort Mountain Retreat when making reservations, and communicating directly with our guests. All credit card and banking transactions are handled with utmost confidentiality using secure methods of communication.

Tariffs are Per cottage per night

CONDITIONS

Guests are kindly requested to arrive after 2:00pm and depart by 10:00am

The tariff applies per cottage as from 6,5,4 and 2 people (excluding babies under 18 months) depending on the cottage size. Refunds are not given for late arrivals or early departures. Management reserves the right to re-let bookings not taken by 17:00 p.m. on the booked date unless notice of late arrival is given. 

Please note that our daily office hours are 08h00 until 17h00. Please advise of late arrivals prior to arrival.

FULL TARIFF STAY:

The tariff is inclusive of the entire cottage inventory including towels, all bed linen, furniture, fridge, microwave, electric or gas stove, TV with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, glassware and safe. Swimming/beach towels can be hired. A daily basic cleaning service will be provided between 10am and 3pm. Phones in each unit are charged for separately at a premium to the Telkom rate. Cots are available at a nominal daily charge which must please be arranged prior to arrival.

We regret NO PETS are allowed.

Please note that the cottages are fully Self Catering and do not include coffee, sugar, tea etc.

MONTHLY TARIFF STAY:

The tariff is inclusive of the entire cottage inventory including all bed linen, furniture, fridge, microwave, electric or gas stove, TV with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, glassware and safe. Swimming/beach towels can be hired. Once a week a cleaning service will be provided which will be inclusive of the tariff. Additional cleaning services must be arranged with the office 48 hours in advance. Phones in each unit are charged for separately at a premium to the Telkom rate. Cots are available at a nominal daily charge which must please be arranged prior to arrival.

ROOMS 

Houtkapperspoort cottages are created from Table Mountain sandstone and timber, combined with the most modern construction techniques. A more tranquil setting no one can ask for.

With 16 charming, fashionable and superbly appointed Self Catering cottages, Houtkapperspoort Mountain Retreat can offer a variety of cottages for our guests to choose from, depending on their requirements or needs. We have a choice of One Bedroom and Two Bedroom cottages with either one or two bathrooms, or Three Bedroom cottages with either two or three bathrooms.

All our Self Catering cottages offer tasteful furnishings, TV, DVD players, bed linen and towels, pergola covered veranda, barbecue, daily basic cleaning service, fridge, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Cooking facilities include a four plate electric/gas stove with an electric oven and a microwave. Most cottages have air-conditioning and some have fireplaces.

Facilities at Houtkapperspoort include 24-hour security control, tennis court, outdoor swimming pool, children’s play area, Wi-Fi, DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), DVD’s for hire, safe, parking bay, laundry service and magnificent mountain paths.

Our Self Catering cottages are set in spacious, meticulously landscaped grounds, and are perfectly suited to anyone with a passion for nature, fresh air and open spaces.

Directions from N7 and / or N1:

From the N7, about 5km prior to reaching the N1, is the board " N1 City/Stad". Proceed until on top of the bridge, change to the left lane, and do a full circle down towards the N1 (move one lane to your right) and proceed towards Cape Town. Soon after you will see the board "Cape Town or Kaapstad 10km". Change to the left lane as you will be taking the fly-over towards "Muizenberg/M3". Continue on the fly-over, and when you join the M5, go to the left lane as soon as you can.

Follow the M5 for a short distance. Don't take the first turnoff (left) towards the N2 or Airport. Proceed to the top of the bridge and then immediately change one lane to your left and do a full circle down towards the N2. Change one lane to your right going in the direction of Cape Town, go over a bridge (M5), underneath two bridges (close together) and underneath the third bridge the road will split. Turn to your left (Muizenberg/Kirstenbosch/ M3). This will put you onto De Waal Drive, which becomes Rhodes Drive. The University will be on your right with Rhodes Memorial a bit further on your right as well. Soon after, go over to the right hand lane, and at your first set of traffic lights, turn right (Board=Hout Bay/Kirstenbosch).

Drive past Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (on your right), and at the T-junction turn right again. Go uphill (there is a pedestrian crossing at the top on the turn - be careful!), and then downhill through all the turns, past Cecilia Forest (on your right) until you get to the traffic circle (roundabout) at Constantia Nek.

Go around the circle (avoid the first exit), and downhill towards Hout Bay (M63). The entrance to Houtkapperspoort is about 200m down the road, first entrance on your right.

As you enter the premises, please stop at the security boom and they will direct you to the office during office hours, or to your cottage if it is after office hours. Please note that the speed limit is 10kmh on the property.

Directions from Cape Town International Airport:

On exiting the airport grounds, follow the Cape Town signs. Drive over the bridge and immediately turn right towards and onto the freeway (N2) which will take you towards Cape Town.

Closer to Cape Town the road will start turning towards Table Mountain. You will drive over a bridge (the M5). Make sure you are in the left lane. Go over a bridge (M5), underneath two bridges (close together) and underneath the third bridge the road will split. Turn to your left (Muizenberg/Kirstenbosch/ M3). This will put you onto De Waal Drive, which becomes Rhodes Drive. The University will be on your right with Rhodes Memorial a bit further on your right as well.
